my daughter recently traveled to china and used her iphone 4s there. upon her return, all incoming calls show up as "Unknown" (even when they are from known contacts). i have tried doing *228 option 1 several times. i have also tried several other things on the apple forums (such as switching the phone to another language and back to english). i have also rebooted the phone several times. none of these things have worked. any advice you would have for other things to try would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!
knorman lets get your daughter's device back in action! Has she tried resetting the network? If not, please go into Settings, General, Reset, and Reset Network Settings. Keep us posted!

I apologize for the issues, knorman. Did she try to do a restore of her contacts to see if this can override them from saying unknown? Give that a try and post back.
