I can see exactly why you are concerned about your phone. I am curious to know whether or not you were able to get 3G on your phone at this point.
If you are in a strong coverage area, it could either be the network or the phone. If it is a temporary network problem, then the 3G should come back, but it has been some days and others around you that have Verizon & aren't having problems we can narrow it down to a phone problem.
