iphone 4s shuts itself off

Frequently, my new phone will cut itself off and require reset. couple days ago probably happened 5-6 times. have cleared all open apps and even reset network settings as has been suggested in other forums. any suggestions? love the phone, but has become very interruptive. thanks.
