my phone cut off by its self.. it was 45% charged... there is no water damage to it..it wont even work on the charger.. should i open my device???
Go to the apple store or call Verizon to replace it. Don't do anything to the phone.

Please do not open your device, this will void warranty and you may have to purchase another one at full retail price. I suggest restoring the device http://goo.gl/ip5o2 and bring it to a store for hands on evaluation if issues continue. I trust that restoring the phone will resolve the issues. Keep posted.
