sms text message failing

Hey I can't send or receive any messages from other phones except imessages...i tried updating the phone using *228 option 1 and 2 and nothing seems to work...very annoying...please help

Sounds like a Verizon problem. Call *611 and tell them the problem that you have.

I have had Verizon for 4 years now. And it seems that more and more frequently SMS fails - especially 2010. And I got an iPhone late last year so I've had Android till then - so it isn't a phone problem, it's a Verizon network problem. You have millions of people sending trillions of SMS on an ancient wireless system - what do you expect?

This is why I like iMessage so much. 1. It ALWAYS works 2. It's near instant. 3. It's free using my data (something I'm already paying for).
