voicemail indicator not working

My voicemail symbol isn't showing when I get a new voicemail.  Any suggestions?

Do you mean where the phone icon is it will show you a number for how many missed calls / voicemail? That's the only voice mail indicator I know of. The visual voicemail Verizon says us an apple thing since it is different then the vzw visual voicemail but I did have trouble weeks ago and it took 4 hrs to get a voicemail from 10 that morning. Vzw said then its a maintenance issue / network issue on apples end but it seems like vzw is part of it.

Hi njb2006,

I understand the importance of receiving voicemail notifications and I'm here to help!  In addition to the information gina7239 provided, I would suggest checking your voicemail settings. Access your voicemail>enter your password, then press the # key>press 4 to access your personal options>Press 1 to turn notifications off and then back on.  Once complete, if possible call your number from a different phone and leave a test voicemail to see if you receive the notification on your phone.  I hope this information is helpful. Mine does the same thing except I do not get visual voicemail either.  I also do not have the option to turn notifications on or off when I go into my personal options.  Any other suggestions?

I have the same problems as hunterlb. No voicemail indicator. Voicemail not arriving on the phone. No option 4 when using the prompts. Did anyone find a solution to these problems?

Let's get those voicemail notifications to work Spiff! What is the current software version on your iPhone? Go to Settings > General > About > SW Version. Did this issue just start? Are the voicemail messages there when dialing *86 send? Have you tried to restore your device? If you are on the latest version, we may need to restore the device.
