I can't get sound alert when I get a text or message

Is this a new phone for you? Has it ever worked?  Have you check the "Sounds" setting in the "Settings" app?

Let's get to the bottom of this and get your text message alerts working right! I definitely don't want you missing an important text messages.

What happens when you get a text message? Do you see the message icon on the phone? Is the phone set to silent? Check the notification settings http://vz.to/1cO3Dit to make sure they are turned on.
