I've had iPhones all the way back to the 3GS. I had the 3GS, 4, 4S, 5, and now the 5c. Since I've had this, I've had issues with the home button. All of my other phones I could tap once to back out of a program, tap twice to bring up the list of running apps (and swipe off), or hold it to get Siri to come up.
This phone has no physical damage or water damage. It has been this way since I got it. Most of the time I hit the home button and it does nothing. I tap it again.. maybe it'll go straight to the running apps list, other times it does nothing. Sometimes if I press and hold as if trying to get Siri to come up, I can get it to back out of the app.
Are these phones just this bad, or do I have a faulty button?

This is a strange issue. I have never come across this issue with any of the iPhones that I have had. How long have you had the phone for? This may just be something that we would need to replace.
