Can I find my stolen device remotely?

Is it possible to turn on my iphone 5s remotely? I have the find friend app on it and also the FindiPhone app. I just need the phone to be online.

At present, no you cannot turn it on remotely.

You can set the find my iPhone to email you when it is turned on. You then can lock it out so it cannot be used.

if you call Verizon and report it stolen it will be on a do not activate list, so you lose the phone and no one can use it.
