So I dropped my phone on my tile floor and I can't see 3/4 of my iPhone 4 screen. I'm buying a new iPhone. I know to save contacts you can download "backup assistant" or Verizon cloud on your phone, but because I can't see the keyboard, I'm unable to download the apps. Is there a way for Verizon to save my contacts for my new phone and will I be able to keep my same phone number? I didn't have the app before but I didn't know about it then. Also apparently iCloud isn't turned on for my contacts and when I try and turn it on, the screen switches to different colors and nothing happens. Please help.

Peanutye, we're sad to hear about your phone. Did you know you can back up all of your information from your iPhone using iTunes on a computer? This would allow you to back up your device without viewing all of your screen.

Since your using an iPhone and going to a new iPhone I'd suggest simply using iCloud. Not sure if you can get to this with the broken phone but go into Settings > iCloud > make sure Contacts are toggled on. If so, you can go to iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID to verify all of your info is backed up.
