Not sure if this is the right space to ask this question. Basically I will have trip to Taiwan next month and I had browsed some online about
things to do to avoid unexpected fat bill. One mentioned to remove the phone SIM card and replace with the local SIM card. Is that good
enough to completely avoid unexpected voice/data/text roaming? Any setting on the phone needs to be done in addition?

sp24681 you have certainly reached the right spot! I definitely understand the importance of avoiding an unexpected bill and hope that you have an amazing time in Taiwan! If you're planning on using a local sim, then it's best to turn off the cellular data http://vz.to/1iYugDJ and voice roaming http://vz.to/1g3HFdD until the local sim is added.
