Can I use my 5S in Australia?

I'm relocating to Australia soon and wish to keep using my 5S on an Australian network. I'm out of contract and in good standing with Verizon.All the reading I've done seems to suggest that all I need to do is select a carrier in Australia and insert/activate their SIM and I'm good to go? No need to call Verizon about unlocking etc?

Phone is already unlocked, and will work with at least GSM in Australia.  You may not get LTE, but you will get HSPA 4G
