Hi since receiving my iPhone 5 my data usage has gone crazy I have called your support line and followed all their directions but 90 percent of the time I am on wi fi I don't watch movies, or large files and I am doing nothing different on my phone then I always have so I don't understand why so much data is being used now I have researched all the issues and still no resolution. I have been a loyal verizon customer but I am at my wits end at this point and am thinking we should go elsewhere since no one seems to be able to help how is it I do nothing different with my phone them what I was doing before but yet data is being used more.. What are you and your company going to do about this as I am not the only customer dealing with this like I said it's becoming ridiculous and your data issue is causing a lot of headache.. I have called and called and called and no one wants to do anything but give us excuses.. Can we have a resolution already because I fear if this continues and I can't get help you may as well lose another customer.. Someone please email me back. Again I do nothing different that I didn't do on the last phone I had so how is it since upgrading to iPhone 5 the data is now going over 6 gig in a month when in the past I barely used 2
I have the same exact data problem and I am so over it. My bill is nearly $300 a month due to data and I never had this problem until I was tricked into getting the ever popular iPhone 5. I'm only 4 days into this billing cycle and already at 90% data - please explain how when I DO NOT LISTEN OR DOWNLOAD MUSIC/MOVIES/VIDEOS. I DO NOT HAVE FACEBOOK/TWITTER ON MY PHONE. I DO NOT HAVE ACTIVE APPS ON MY PHONE. I use the phone as just that - a phone.
I AM DOING NOTHING DIFFERENT THAN I DID PREVIOUSLY TO BUYING THIS PHONE.
I AM ABSOLUTELY LEAVING VERIZON TOMORROW. I AM LEAVING WORK AND GOING TO ANOTHER VENDOR.
The support tech on the phone WAS ABSOLUTELY no help at all. He basically stated "let me connect you with tech support".
***VERIZON, IT SADDENS ME THAT YOU WILL LOSE A LOYAL CUSTOMER AFTER 10 YEARS!***
I definitely don't want to see you go!
Did you notice the data issue once you got the iPhone 5? Are you running any other apps in the background that may be causing these issues?
Do you have an Exchange email account integrated with iOS mail client? If so, check your outbox to see if you have any stuck emails pending that may be attempting to send and causing the excessive data usage. If there is one just deleted it.

We have been running into this issue for awhile now and I'm very frustrated. The other person on the account who has an iPhone has no issues I have the iPhone 5 and I have the issues since I received it like I stated before I am doing nothing different then I did with the iPhone 4S.. I've looked all through the phone to make sure all the setting were set the same and they were.. So not sure what's going on but I can't keeps having these issues. I think it's the phone itself Like I said never had the issue until I got the iPhone 5. Can you just replace it to fix the issue??! I'm at my wits end at this point

Let's look further into this Mcgugan1975! Did you get a chance to check your email account (s) outbox to ensure an email isn't stuck and trying to continuously send? Please observe and ensure you have a strong wifi connection and assure the connection is not returning to cellular data. Try closing applications here http://bit.ly/qbJhkJ and monitor data by dialing #DATA send. Are you aware how much more data you are using compared to your iPhone 4s? Please keep in mind you now have a 4G device which may encourage more data usage. Please share. Thank you.

I have 6 gig which is shared by me and one other person with an iPhone 4. I am aware of how to check data, email and wifi connections I did all the trouble shooting before ever reaching out to your company who doesn't seem to want to do anything except tell me the same thing over and over with no resolution. Do you not want to help your customers I have 6 gigs and we have never even come close to going over our data.. I've troubleshot and nothing is working every month I have to call in and pay 10 more dollars for more data I think its a scam I mean my god we already pay you over 200 a month and now you want to add more charges. I don't need anymore excuses I need action resolution. Something needs to be done because you are about to lose another customer and I am ready to reach out to the better business burue and make them aware of the service we have been provided I've done my research and I am not the only customer having issues with false data being charged when it's not really used in the iPhone 5 and your company tells us all the same thing check this check that with no resolution. I am doing nothing different with iPhone 5 then I did with iPhone 5 and the 4 g is turned off also data cannot be used unless I am on wifi.. So do something fix the issue, fix the phone, replace the phone if you have to. But DO something I've already talked to tech support and ten other people your number 11 FIX the issue with your faulty iPhone 5 phones

My wife has the same issue on her iPhone 5 and she rarley does anything. She has 20x the usage of my daughter on her iPhone 4. Question for rep. When you go to data usage monitor, it has times. She gets big usage at 10:06 AM and PM and 4:06 AM and PM every day. Is this just when the usage is collected or something else?
That's great that you are already ahead of the game since you are aware on how to check data, email and WiFi connections. We appreciate you contacting us to troubleshoot as well.
You mentioned going from a 3G device to a 4G device. With that being said, you are processing data at speeds of up to 10 times faster with 4G.
That is serious speed! Imagine apps running in the background at 10 times the speed of 3G. You mentioned 4G is off most of the time. Are you saying you are being charged data while using WiFi? Has a resolution ticket ever been filed for that?

Again your not providing me a resolution and every time I email u back it's takes over 24 hrs for a response. I've already explained my issue in full detail and you and your company keep on avoiding the issue....AGAIN.. I went from an iPhone 4S to an iPhone 5 I have 6 gigs of data that I never came close to using 90 percent if the time I'm on WIFI. I Am doing nothing different since I've hD the iPhone 4 the iPhone 4 s and all of a sudden the phone or your company is now saying I use more then that.. I'm not some kid here but an adult that doesn't watch videos I don't play video games I don't listen to music stations there should be no reason for all of a sudden using high data and I have to shut off the data when I'm not home.. FIX THE ISSUE, REPLACE the PHONE or send me to yet another person who does y want to fix the issue.. This makes no sense having to go back and forth with you and your company.
