Expected ship date 10/7

I am a long-time Sprint customer. I recently decided to switch to Verizon when the iPhone 5S came out. I got online on the 20th, ported my number over from Sprint and made the switch. I got a preorder confirmation email with the order number included. But when I go to check the status of my order, it says "We received your order and it is in process", with an expected ship date of 10/7/2013. Why is it still in process? What is taking so long? I ordered it over a week ago! This is ridiculous!

I completely understand how excited you must be to get your new iPhone.  This one is in such demand that it has caused unexpected shipping delays.  The good news is that your order is already in the queue and you are guaranteed to receive your phone!  Now you will receive an email with the updated shipping date for your device.
