Extended Network not working since I changed my number?

I recently changed my number on my iPhone 5C. However, since I live in an Extended Network area, I had to go several miles to activate the new number. Now I have no service in the extended coverage area that I live in. What am I supposed to do about this?

The only thing that I can think of that could possibly be a problem is that I accidentally took out the SIM card while the phone was still turned on. It might also not be related to the number change since it started just before I left to get it activated.

Taking the SIM card out without powering the phone down first may harm the SIM card and possibly the device. You may need a new SIM card, which will also need to be activated in a Verizon Wireless area. You can pick one up at a Verizon Wireless owned store http://bit.ly/3SdsA or I can send one to you.
