Help with iPhone 5c

My daughter has been having problems with her phone. It freezes up in the middle of texting or anything she is on. She cant download anything it says not enough storage room even after I got more storage and it says she has room. This morning she got up and it won't show any contacts names just number all the way down. She doesn't always get texts right away. She has restarted  it and I bought more storage for her to see if it will help. It won't let her up date anything either snap chat or just the iPhone it's self. It just says erro can't update. Besides taking it in and having it look at what else can I try here at home first?

TRS1977 I’m saddened to hear the problems your daughter has bee having with the phone, let's get this fixed for her. Can you tell me if the device is functioning fine for voice calls? How long has this problem been occurring? Naansalad was on the right track, how was the extra data added to the phone? Has she tried to remove any additional apps on the phone that are no longer being used?

@TRS1977 it wounds like we need to take a closer look at this. I'm here to help. I see you said you bought more storage. Did you buy more iCloud storage? This is different than the amount of memory available on your phone. Not to worry, its easy to check the phone storage. Please go to settings- general- storage & available icloud under storage see what it says is available. If less than 1Gb I would recommend deleting apps until you have 1GB. Please keep us posted.

She has had this issue for a while with not being able to add games. She has no games she only has Pinterest and wish. It won't let her add games and she has 47 pictures and no videos. I guess I didn't  add storage I went to iCloud and added room there.

iPhone 5c. I went to iCloud and got storage for iCloud I was thinking something else.

look like issue is storage in device not a cloud issue. had you check in phone to see how much storage left ...again in device not on icloud.

Used is 5.0 available is 0. This would explain her not being able to add anything but not be able to see contacts?
