I bought an iPhone5 through verizon 3 months ago, now it seems that the earpiece no longer works and I can only speak on the phone using speaker phone. Is there a way to fix this

Was it a certified pre owned device you purchased? Or was it a new iPhone 5? A new device does in fact carry a 1-year manufacture warranty. Apple or VZ would swap it out. I had to have my 6 swapped a few weeks back, by Apple, due to the earpiece not working. A certified pre owned purchased device should go back to VZ. My friend just purchased an iPhone 5 and had an issue (continued power cycling). Upon taking it to Apple they referred him back to VZ. Good luck!

If the phone is only 3 months old you can take it to Verizon and I believe even Apple as it has a manufactures warranty of 12 months. So long as the phone isn't damaged, they should determine that it's an internal issue and replace it.
