So you're saying that this is a well known fact? This is my first iPhone and I regret it. I wish that the sales associate had given me the proper information on this prior to. I definitely would've made a different selection.
The newer Android phones are like this if they don't have Advanced Calling enabled. The iPhone 6 requires Advanced Calling too to get voice and data simultaneously on LTE.

Yes, ever since Verizon got its first iPhone, the 4 until this past fall when the iPhone 6 came out that supports VoLTE or Advanced Calling, iPhones could not surf and talk on CDMA networks.
OMG!!! This is going to be the longest 2 years of my life. I appreciate the information, I've gained more here than by speaking to reps employed at verizon.
Only the iPhone 6 / 6+ models on VZ allow for voice/data at the same time (when not on Wi-Fi). Good luck. They have a 14-day return policy.
