No Verizon doesn't import IMEI into their database. Sprint doesn't either.
You need to call sprint to get Domestic Unlock (not international unlock), but you have to wait until your service contract is fullfilled. They might give you a hard time to do that, but you have right to ask them to do so. After you unlock the phone, you can use the phone with activated verizon sim card with that unlocked sprint iphone 5s. The verizon does not detect this phone, it will show "non-Verizon Device", but everything works perfectly fine. Let me know if you have any question.
