If I got my iphone wet do you have to use white rice or can you use brown rice?

I accidentally got my iPhone 5c wet.  Only had brown rice. Is that ok or does it have to be white rice?

Any rice will probably do. The point is that rice will absorb the moisture and HOPEFULLY your phone will survive it's dunking

Sadly, no. But I was told insurance would not cover water damage.  I am praying to get my phone back working again s my son bought it for me a few months ago.

Actually, some things have come back. But there are vertical lines and I cannot swipe anything.  Should I keep it in rice and hope for the best?  It has been a week.

  Sadly, it sounds like you may need to start looking around for a replacement.   I think I saw 4 days as the suggested time in rice. Maybe another poster will have better news for you.
