Hi Phillerup, that sounds pretty concerning with having to do an complete erase or hard reset on your iPhone 5c. Let me answer your inquiry and assist with this issue. If you do a hard reset on the device, it would not affect the Sim card as just the data on the device erased and prepares for the restore.
