More than likely it is not related. Did you do the iOS 9.2 software update? I know generally speaking after a software update Apple attempts to get the user to update their passcode from a 4-digit to a 6-digit pw (if your still using a 4-digit). Do you recall if this happened? e.g. if you may have updated to a new passcode?
