No SIM Card

I have had my iPhone 5 for over a year now. For the past week, there is no data available on my phone. In the top left, it states, "No SIM". I have tried restarting my phone and the network settings. Upon restart it says, "No SIM Card Installed". Has anybody come across this problem, and are there are any valid solutions?

I have also attempted to turn on and off Airplane mode as an alternative.

Thanks for any advice.
