I'm having the same problem with mine - can only text (imessage rarely works), and I can only access my apps if I'm on wifi. I can make calls, but visual voicemail isn't working. Called verizon this morning, tried a soft restart, tried resetting all phone setting and also resetting network settings. Nothing worked - they suggested I back my phone up and do a hard reset. Haven't tried it yet because I'm on a work computer, but hopefully that does something. It's been like this for days now!

Hi mesmi001,
I'm sorry to see that you are experiencing issues with your service. The hard reset recommended when you called us, is a great troubleshooting option that may resolve all issues. Please visit this link http://bit.ly/TDltcJ for step by step instructions.

I've done that. I've called on three separate occasions, was told that
someone from Verizon Wireless would call me back, they didn't, and I had to
call and explain the situation again. Verizon is sending me a new phone
(although they're not sending it to the address I told them to), and I have
to go pick up a new SIM card.

Did you try the steps from the apple forum above?
Verizon sends out second hand refurbished crap. Not new. They like to tell you certified like new with a 100 point check.
Do not believe it. Read the forum, most of these junkers have more issues than what you complained about.
Its a chance you will have to take.
Verizon likes to placate customers with that we will call you back line. Don't believe it. No return calls, shoddy customer service, no real support, and disappointed customers.
Good Luck

Thanks for working so hard with us to get your phone working again, mesmi001. It looks like you're already on the right track with a phone and SIM replacement. I'm disappointed to see the phone was shipped to the wrong address though. Did you already get your phone and SIM replacements? If not, do you have the ability to pick the replacement phone up at that incorrect address or do we need to send out a replacement to the right one? Please keep us posted.
Thank you

The new SIM card didn't work. Considering the phone was shipped to
california and I'm on the east coast, I don't have the ability to go pick
it up. The person at the incorrect address has said that they will
overnight it to me, but that's money they shouldn't have to spend to fix
your error. I'm not waiting for you to send another one to the correct
address because my phone has been useless for the past week. All of the
suggestions you guys have given me have just made the problem worse (I used
to get some service, now I get NO service...my phone constantly says
"searching" and uses up my battery in 4 hours. I'm frustrated that I'm
paying for a service that I'm not actually getting...

They told me to get a new SIM card and that didn't work, I'm getting a
"new" phone today (they sent me a refurbished one which is beyond
frustrating considering my phone is only a few months old), but we'll see
if it works.
