Not being able to send text messages

I have a iPhone 5S. I am able to send and receive iMessages, but my text messages i am not able to send. It will only let me receive messages. And sometime if i person that has text messages they will come in has a email. Is anyone else having this problem? Please help.

Hello BrookAshleyy,

Text messaging is an easy way to keep in touch and I want to make sure your messages are working properly. Is your software currently up to date? Please try turning off iMessage by going to Settings > Messages. After turning iMessage off, please power your phone off and on then try sending a regular text message. Keep us posted with any results!
