Not eligible for the upgrade

I am planning to pre-order iphone 5 today but I am not eligible for an upgrade until March next year because of my current 2 years contract.

I did contact people at verizon and they gave me 2 choices, either upgrading at full retail price or adding a line. first choice does not work for me.

Does anyone know about adding a line stuff? Does it mean that i end up with paying twice a month, for my old line and for my new iphone?

You can add a line and make it like a family share plan....or you can have it as 2 unlinked accounts (which would mean 2 bills, possibly due on the same date).
