Ordered 2 iPhones (Silver 64gb) Friday - I have one on hand, the other is MIA

Ordered 2 phones via Phone customer service 9/20 at 3am EST.  As I was going to use Edge plan, I was told they had to be done as separate transactions.  I have one phone that was delivered 9/25, and the other iPhone has a different reason it's not here every time I talk to customer service.

One representative on 9/24 told me the card was declined for the 2nd iPhone (however my card was charged, and the CC company confirms there was no such decline).

A second representative told me 9/25 that the phone was ready to go on hold for me, and would ship out tonight (9/25) and I should see a tracking number shortly.

I call back on 9/26, and this representative tells me 11/4 is the expected date.  They had no clue why I was told the day before it would ship out as they don't have any in stock.

So decided to call a few local stores, and turns out they had the 64gb in Space Grey in stock.  Called back to Verizon and they said sure, I can go to the store and get the phone, and simply cancel my on-line order.  Once I get to the store 30 min away, the sales rep tells me I can't do this - they have no ability to sell me a phone as there is a pending order\activation on my line.

I believe that Verizon fudged my order on the 20th, and I have to sit and wait it out while my card has been charged for the purchase already.

Seriously considering returning the phone I current have, and forgetting about this mess and switch to a different phone carrier.  I have spoken to no less than 5 different representatives regarding this matter, and every one has a different story on what is going on.

No one knows anything at that company. People are always told different things by different workers. I think they just randomly shipped out whatever iphones they had on stock. I know some one on the messageboard that ordered at 12:30am and got their phone. Whereas i, who just ordered a Space grey at 12:20am before that person, have not gotten mine yet. Doesn't seem to be fair and 'in the order received' like it should have been.

That's frustrating that they had one in stock in person and you still couldn't get it. I would have definitely not ordered online if I knew going on at midnight wasn't going to be fair and get me one within a week. I would have taken my chances.

First time I've ever ordered a phone on release date, and I'm certainly never ordering it through Verizon again.
