The lock button on the phone does not work. I have not dropped the phone, nor has it had any other damage. Any suggestions on how to fix?

The lock button on my phone has gone out.  No damage, no liquid.  Is this something I have to take to Apple or can Verizon help with this?

I would go straight to Apple.  Is the phone still under warranty?  When my son's power button stopped working, we got online with Apple, and within a few days he had a replacement phone, no hassle at all.  We were quite impressed with Apple service.
