Underlining or making texts bold

While I was at the Apple store I saw that you could underline and make texts bold, unfortunately I do not remember what it said to do. Does anyone know how this is done? TIA

That's a great question LMGIER! I had to do a bit of digging myself to find that option, but I found it! Rich Formatting to Text in iPhone Mail lets you bold, italicize, or underline. Here's how:

•Highlight the text you want to format while composing an email in iPhone Mail.
•Tap BIU.
•If you cannot see BIU in the menu that comes up, tap the right arrow first.
Now:
•Tap Bold for bold text.
•Tap Italics for italicized characters.
•Tap Underline to underline the highlighted word, characters or passage.

VOILA! Rich formatted text in your iPhone messages. I hope you keep enjoying your new iPhone.
