So, I ordered on 9/20 just like everyone else, received the initial email stating that my preorder was in process and would ship by 10/7, and now on 10/7 nothing has changed. It really wouldn't bother me if it weren't for the fact that I took the bait and processed my trade in request for my 4s.... now I have the envelope but can't mail in the phone because I have no idea when my 5s will arrive. Is Verizon going to honor my trade in quote beyond the 30 days if you blow the ship date you sold me on? I can go to any carrier I want to and I'll be happy to do so AND pay the restocking fee for the extra line and 5c that I added to my account as well if this isn't resolved quickly. TIMELY and ACCURATE updates are to be expected from customers that pay you a ridiculous amount of money each month.
Oh, and nice move sending me an email at 5:39pm ON THE DAY IT'S SUPPOSED TO SHIP BY, stating that it may or may not ship now by 10/18?!?!?! What a debacle. Save your canned response for someone that cares. You knew well before today that you weren't going to be able to ship my order on time, but your service is SO BAD that you waited until the last possible second to notify me. I expect some compensation here and part of that WILL be waiving the STUPID upgrade fee from my bill. I PAY YOU to do business and there's no way I paying a trumped up nothing fee when you can't even follow through on your commitments to your customers.
Just a friendly tip if you call in to have the upgrade fee waived, if you're polite and ask to have it waived as opposed to telling the rep to do it because you deserve it, you're much more likely to have it waived. Whether it's Verizon Wireless's fault or not it's at the rep's discretion to waive it and they get paid whether or not you're happy. Applying adjustments to an account however, affects their numbers and potential bonus so if they don't like you or the way you're talking to them, you can expect to get shot down. No one likes being ordered to do something, especially something that can negatively affect them personally, but by being a courteous human being your chances of getting what you want goes way up.

Being rude isn't going to get you anywhere, it's going to make things worse. You won't get compesation on your bill for a phone order delay. Your still using the service with your current phone I'm sure so why would they credit services used?....oh and your comment "save your canned responses for someone that cares"?!?! So you don't care? Well then cancel and go to another provider who isn't going to charge you "ridiculous amounts". iPhone orders are back up, everyone knows that. They did notify you late and I'd be upset too but you can't boss people around. Sure you are paying them, but they are PEOPLE like you and I bet you don't like it when people boss you around. And the upgrade fee is charged if you upgrade. Why would they waive the upgrade fee if you upgraded?! I don't get that, because thats what the charge is for......Also, the trade in quote is only good for 30 days however if you ask NICELY and explain the situation NICELY then they will probably get you the same trade in value. Just treat them like the people they are and they will do the same.
