Had water damage to my iPhone 5c. It has been sitting in rice for 4 days. If that doesn't work, do I bother replacing the battery?

The iPhone 5c does not have a user accessible battery.
water damage causes internal damage to circuits etc.
If you were to go to an apple store they will not do anything.
If you purchased the asurian supplemental insurance you can file a claim here. http://www.phoneclaim.com/verizon
please note there will be a $169 deductible before they will send another device.
If not, you will have to buy another device.
Good Luck
