Weird characters in the SSID when using my iPhone 5c as a hotspot

I'm using my iPhone 5c as a hotspot but the SSID has weird characters. In order to connect my printer, I have to be able to type in the SSID on the printer keypad. Is there a way to fix the SSID so that I can do that?

There are 3 characters showing where the apostrophe should be in the SSID. For example: one is a small "a" with a carat above it and one is a TM. I don't know what to call the other character.

That is odd, fidmom24. We can fix that though. The SSID is your name of your iPhone. We need to change your device name on iTunes. To do this, please log onto your iTunes account, under Devices, you should see your iPhone. Double click to change your iPhones name. That will be your new SSID and your iPhones name.
