Why can't I take advantage of an upgrade offer?

I received a e-mail from Verizon Wireless for a early upgrade to iPhone 5c 32g for free. My plan is up in June, and I am trying to do this early upgrade online, but it keeps trying to charge me full price for the phone, even it the check out, when the e-mail states the price will be adjusted in the check out. Why can I not order this phone for the price in the e-mail, and upgrade early?

Hi bill.. I had the same problem.. So I called customer service and they had me place the order over the phone.. That's how u have to do it from what they told me.. I got the the pink 32gb iphone c ..Only thing I had to pay was the 30 dollar upgrade fee.. I was already on the more everything plan from about two weeks ago so no other plan change was made.. Hope this helps.. I was pretty upset at first too.. They should specify that u need to order it over the phone..so just call and u should be ok..
