iPhone 5 with iOS6 seems to only have the "Repeat Alert" option under Settings/Notifications for the Messages app (iMessages and text messages). Since older flip phones always had the feature to play a sound to remind you of missed calls, unheard voicemails or unread messages, why doesn't the iPhone have this feature enabled for the Phone app? I know you can set Notifications to show either a badge or an alert on the screen along with a sound playing one time, but there is no option to repeat the alert if it was not noticed. I think this would be very helpful.

It doesn't bother me. Seems to me it would be quite annoying.

I know none of my android phones have had a repeat notification sound for a missed call. Some had a LED light that repeated.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

rcschnoor, you're right; Some might find it annoying. But if it was available under Settings, the user could turn it on or off as they please.

I agree. It does bother me. It bothers my boss too when I don't return his calls promptly. I don't want to have to keep checking the phone to see if anyone has called while I'm away.

I thought the point of a cell phone was to be able to have a phone with you. When you are away, you take it with you.

I do have it with me, but sometimes miss the initial notification sound when I'm busy or in a noisy environment.

Hi thomprodforum. After reading your post i checked my phone (droid inc 4g), and i just can't find anything that gives a sound for missed calls. If it's there, i sure can't find it. What i do get is this; "Show caller ID for missed calls on lock screen and status bar". That works.
But as far as the phone itself making a sound to alert me about a missed call, nada.
I did go to Google Play and found some free "Missed Call Reminder Apps". I didn't download any because right now i don't need it. Maybe one of those apps will work for you.
