Thanks, Heretic. I know that I could download an app to do this, but don't you think an expensive iPhone would have more features built in than my old flip phone, not less?

I'm not understanding.
You KNOW there are apps to do this, but since the iPhone is expensive, you shouldn't have to download an app. Is that it? Smart phones are made to be customizable, and yes its the apps that make that happen. If you are in a noisy environment a reminder beep is useless. You won't hear it. Put your phone on ring plus vibrate carry it with you and move on.

I believe all smartphones need to have that feature built in, considering their retail price. I also agree with yosraeprm. Depending on the situation, ie; business meeting, i just put my phone on vibrate before putting it in my shirt or pant pocket.

Heretic, I do the same. I just think that since the iPhone's notifications center is able to repeat an alert sound for unacknowledged iMessages, it should also enable that repeat feature for other events, like missed voice calls, unheard voicemail messages and such.

Who knows? Maybe the next iOS upgrade will have it? Maybe the next Android OS upgrade will have it?
Until then...

Apple and iPhone have purposely not included this feature common on all other phones because they want to force you to keep your iphone on and with you at all times. Not everyone has an iphone yet, and if the current users are constantly showing their iPhone, that attracts other users. Plus you're forced to use your iPhone more. In the customer versus company priority, with Apple, the company's always first!

I agree this feature should be available Just got off the phone with apple support and the CSR that i talk with agreed there is a lot of demand for this feature. So why no app ? with 100.000 or more apps in the itunes app store, there is no app for this ?
I think reggiepv may be correct. Not good
