I dropped my iPhone 5 in the ocean earlier today. I was eligible for an upgrade, so I went and got a new one activated in store today since I have to fly out tomorrow. With the exception of a few minutes, my new phone has said "Searching...", so my phone is useless. However, my phone dropped in the ocean has finally turned on and it is showing 5 bars of service. The touch screen isn't working, so right now I am out $700 between the two phones, not to mention the insurance I've been paying every month, and I have two completely worthless phones for my flight and following two weeks. Is there anything I can do? I have to be at the airport before the Verizon store opens.

The old phone NEEDS to be turned off and SIM card removed for the new phone to finish the activation through the SIM card in that phone.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
