NO, that is a cable modem.   It will not work with Verizon cellular or Verizon FiOS. What are you trying to do since you are way off.

I guess I worded my query poorly.

I am trying to set up a wireless network using apple airport extreme. My verizon iPhone would be on this network.

Airport extreme is a router that does not include a modem.

My existing modem/router is connected to comcast cable. The modem is obsolete so I need a new modem.

I want to get an ARRIS/motorola sb 6141. One review I should check if it would work with my verizon service. I don't know if that applies when using a network. I tried to find a list of acceptable modems on the verizon site, but could not find one. Verizon keeps pointing to different subjects-maybe I don't know how to ask; maybe it's irrelevant but just maybe i would end up having a problem.

You probably should be asking Comcast (your Internet company) if the modem is compatible with their system. You should also be checking the modem manufacturer's website or with your router manufacturer to verify the two devices can be used together. As for your iPhone, it connects to the wifi broadcasting from your router. It could care less about the modem between the router and the Internet.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

The Note about checking with the Verizon service is referring to the Verizon Fios landline internet service NOT the Verizon Wireless network. The modem has to work with the your landline internet connection whether you have Comcast, Verizon Fios or another Internet company.

As Ann154 said your iPhone or any other wi-fi device won't care what is on the other side of the wi-fi device as long as it provides internet service. In your case the SB6141 will work fine with Comcast and DOCSIS 3.0 is the current standard and will work for some time to come and is a good choice for your situation where you using the Apple Airport Extreme.
