iPhone 5 Suddenly Dead

Yesterday my iPhone 5 flashed a low battery below 10%after taking a one minute video.  It has now shut off & will not respond.  I did try the hard reset and it does not respond or reboot.  I have charged the phone.  When plugged into a computer or outlet the Apple Icon flashes on the screen every 5-10 seconds.  Anything to try before restoring factory settings?

You should try connecting it to iTunes if you have not done so already.
