iPhone 5 "Searching..." for signal for 15-30 seconds after boot

Every time I boot my iPhone 5, it takes at least 15 seconds, sometimes as long as 30-40s for it to lock a signal. During this time phone says "Searching...". After this time has elapsed, it briefly goes to "No Service" (1-2s) before showing a signal.  Is everyone else experiencing this and if so, is this slow network sync-up an iPhone 5 specific problem or do other VZW LTE phones also take this long?  I have a different phone on a different carrier and it locks LTE in about 2s after boot.

Time is valuable PeteBoston so I want your phone to lock onto signal as quick as possible. Many phones do take a few seconds once powered on to find the optimal signal and connect the LTE SIM to the network. So a 15 second delay isn't too uncommon. But if you notice the phone isn't responding properly, Apple has some great steps to try at http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/phone to get you back to normal.

Thank you
