Thanks for the update, VPOPX2. Do you know if these are span emails coming through or does your email application give you a way to manage the spam to try to avoid receiving them?
Thank you!

Not spam. These are regular emails that re appear after they have been reviewed opened and/ or deleted. The account is a verizon.net email address so spam is controlled at receipt before being pushed to the device.

VPOPX2, thanks for these details. Your device is designed to sync all e-mails that come in to that verizon.net email address. As a result, you will need to change the e-mail settings for that address on a PC or laptop to correct this issue from occuring on your wireless phone.

what settings? The PC is the same push methodology to outlook and the
phone is independent. I have reviewed the settings on the phone and on the
actual verizon mail site for her account. Everything seems correct. What
are you suggesting?

I'm really sorry VPOPX2. The following link should actually help you with these settings: http://bit.ly/1m0gBRw . Please keep us posted to see if this corrects the issue.
Thank you,

Ok, the link is a little dated since most of the world uses outlook
2007/2010/2013... that being said, outlook is not the issue, the phone is
retrieving deleted and opened emails and thinks they are new. I was really
hoping for something I hadn't thought of here. I am a former CIO for a $32
Billion company... I am very versed in Exchange, Outlook and the microsoft
suite. What I am stuck with is how the iPhone is not syncing with the
verizon email account properly and why this occurred in the last 2 weeks if
nothing changed...

@VPOPX2,
Let's figure this out! Have you already deleted the email from the phone and re-added it? Have you done a hard reset since this start happening? If you sign into teh email account on your computer are the old emails still there?

yes, deleted the account and set it up again... yes on the hard reset, yes
on the computer and on verizon webmail. verizon webmail had 362 emails on
the server, nothing open on the computer, the phone loads 6000+ randomly...
The computer does have the old emails but they display open not new...

Thanks for trying VPOPX2. If this was a complete factory reset of the device that is the final troubleshooting step. Have you had the opportunity to take it to an Apple store?
