Got the last minute update email at 08:40PM PST. Very pissed, not just by the delay itself, but by the way how VZW handle their customers.
I started at the very beginning of midnight (PST). Ordered two 16G iPhone 5Ses, one golden & one silver. Got the order confirmation email at 12:13AM, with ship by date of 09/24. Was even dreaming VZW might surprise me by getting iPhone 5Ses at my door earlier. //LOL
My coworker did the same but from ATT. His golden iPhone 5S arrived at his door this afternoon, way ahead of schedule! Have been with VZW since 2005. Now even if I want to switch I cannot get iPhone 5S sooner!!
Wondering if any folk placed order after me and has got it (or on delivery), or before me and got delayed as well?

I believe Verizon should compensate for the delay. High tech company that can't figure out there stock. Not the customer fault. Everyone should call multiple times a day until they get a $100 credit or a phone. If we all flood them over and over. We can Wayne get some action.

VZW has always been late on new game. iPhone being one example. And more recently Lumia 1020 being another one. Being snobbish about their network thus unwilling to cut a deal with vendors I guess. But that is obviously not enough and VZW has to test its customers on a new front.. Speechless!

I have the EXACT same situation...exact times and everything, but I ordered 1 gold 5S 16g. It's annoying because I have called and chatted with several representatives--and everyone had a different story. I'm wishing I stood in line or purchased my phone through Apple. Setting my alarm for 3am EST was clearly a waste of time.

Same thing happened to me. I ordered the 16G gold phone and received my original confirmation at 12:08 Pacific time. The delay is lame, but not getting the delay notice until the day it was suppose to be shipped is just really bad customer service.

Does anyone's status still say "in process" with a 9/24 shipping date? I feel like the website information is a joke. Has ANYONE received the gold 16gb 5S?

I have the exact same issue, I ordered 2gold 5s 16g. and received an order confirmation, and late last night i received the email relaying the ship date....what concerns me is that it was my understanding that the pre-order ship dates are based on items in stock.... Complete waste of time staying up to pre-order...Verizon should expedite all delayed order to next day shipment because of the inconvience.

I'm in the same boat, I woke up in the middle of the night, order my gold iphone 5s (I'm not even going to mention the $30.00 upgrade fee). Since my order was placed back on 9/20/13 I was checking oder status everyday just to make sure everything was going smooth and my order will ship on 24th. Guess what I got a email this morning saying order was pushed back to the 10/07/13 WTF, why don't they just say your order was going to ship on 10/07/13. I call the number in a email and they can't tell me anything, I even asked if I can switch my color just to get it faster, once again they can't tell me anything and there isn't anyone else I can talk to. I'm very disappointed with Verizon and If I have to wait one more day after 10/07 I will just cancel my service with them. I have ben very loyal customer for last 10 years and I pay high fees every month, but this is just BS.

I ordered 2 - 64gb iPhone 5s silver/white models right after 3:01est on the phone with customer service. I have one phone marked out for delivery today, and the 2nd phone I don't even have a tracking number yet for it - card was charged for both.
You think they could keep the orders together, I'd rather have both phones shipped together and get delivered a few days later than this mess.
I want to take my current iPhone 4s models in to Verizon for the trade-in special, before it expires.

I'm in the same boat as many of you. I ordered a 64gb Gray by 2:12 pm central and received confirmation it would ship by 9-24. Last night I received an email at 9:40 PM saying the new shipping date is now 10-7 and they will let me know if that changes. Let me guess, I'll get another email late on the 6th stating a new shipping date. If that happens I'm done with Verizon! I should dump them now. I've been a good customer for MANY years and this is how I'm treated..shame on you Verizon! So much for "First Come First Served"!
