They sell an app called "find my iPhone". You can access if from any apple device and if connected to the internet or by satellite, you can find out exactly where it is. You are also able to lock it, display a message on it, and play a beacon sound.

(Useful if you can't find it in house or room.) I would suggest to everyone who has an apple device because apple doesn't care enough to find it for you though I'm sure the are able to.

I hope this is helpful for you in the future if you so choose to purchase another Apple product,

My iPhone 5 was recently stolen by a pickpocket.  I did have a passcode on it and Find my iPhone activated too.  About 30-45 minutes after it was stolen, I used the Find my iPhone app on my iPad.  It found the phone outside the city limits near a train station.  After that, the phone was always off line & couldn't be located.  I suspect they had reset it to factory settings.  So, the app wasn't much help at all.  Sigh..... 😞

If you don't have a lock on your phone then that would defeat the purpose of having the app. NOT SAYING YOU DON"T LOCK YOUR PHONE. just to let everyone know cuz all they have to do is delete the application. otherwise it's probably because of iPhone's stupid settup when plugging in your iPhone to iTunes (because you don't have to enter a PASSWORD to get into the phone)
