Why does my phone lock to a voice roaming carrier? How can I release the lock?
We have two identical iPhone 5's fully upgraded to the latest iOS. We are in Mexico. Data and SMS is turned off. One is locked to Movistar and the other to Telcel. The one on Movistar keeps receiving junk messages. So when I disconnect the Automatic carrier selection, and try to search for carriers, both phones are unable to list the available carriers - and we know there are at least two available!
These phones have not been hacked, and are holding the same SIM card that came in them since day 1!
