my son got an iphone 5 that won`t connect to wifi unless he is literally on top of the router, and it doesn`t recognize available networks. Have tried many things after researching on the net. Any suggestions?

Help is here diloglm! Let's get that connection up and running. Has the phone been able to connect to other wi-fi networks? Can any other devices connect to wi-fi you're trying to connect to right now? Have you tested the router to make sure it's working with other devices? Also, reply including the software version, located in Settings>General>about.
