Often I see that there is a new email or a text message but I did not get a sound notification. When I check settings sounds I will find the one of more sounds are not working. It can be the phone sound or text or email sound, or a random mixture of these while one or another is still working. I find that turning airplane mode on and then off restores the sounds.
Are there any permanent solutions around that do not involve wiping the phone and starting from a backup? My version is 6.1.4 (10B350)
For anyone who ends up here on a search (as I looked at a million links on this topic) - It seems my problem is linked to Bluetooth in my car. When Paired, my phone ringer sound will work but all my other notification sounds do not. When unpaired (car is off) or out of Bluetooth reach), the sounds return. Annoying but at least I know my phone is not failing.
