why does my iPhone 5s disconnect calls all the time

I have an iphone5 that disconnects all the time.....have to revert to land line

Has it always done that? Is this a new device or did you update the iOS and then experience the issue?

New device. had back to VZ 5 times now, they try different things like new sim card, settings ,  etc.

Also on the 5s (the bad phone), the battery drain is large. I am using my 5c, 6 hrs now, and the battery is at 94%. The 5s is at 67% (not even being used). Sounds like a problem with the 5s if it drops all calls AND sucks the batters dry.

Had iOS 7, and updated to iOS 8 to see if problem would resolve. Still same problem.

Thank you for taking time to troubleshoot, Bigbear043! Can you confirm the exact iOS version through Settings>General>About? Have you had the opportunity to restore the device through iTunes to clear any corruptions?
