will I be charged for overage if I download update... 1 GB. my plan (because I don't use it for FB, etc.) is 250 mb.

Just rec'd my iphone 5c as an upgrade.  probably won't use it for much other than texting and talk !  Therefore, opted for 250 mb a month.  if I download the new upgrade which is 1GB... will I be charged for overage????

Luvstorace, I want to ensure that you can avoid overage. If you are updating your phone using your data plan, then it is very likely you will have overage. If you have access to WiFi, please connect to your WiFi network before downloading the update. If you do not have access to WiFi, you can download the latest update through iTunes as long as you have the most current version. Please ensure all your information is backed up prior to downloading the new iOS.

If your monthly allowance is 250MB and the update is 1BG...well, yes, you'll be charged for going over your limit.  Just download the update via WiFi or connect to iTunes and update there.

If you don't have WiFi available you will be charged for data usage. I'd recommend you find wifi to download your update. McDonald's, Starbucks, Library...
