I am thinking of upgrading my phone to a 5c and giving my iPhone 5 to my son who lives in Canada. I'm trying to figure out if the SIM card slot on this phone will accept a SIM card from a Canadian carrier. He doesn't have Verizon in Canada because of the data costs. Does anyone know or can you point me in the right direction? The people at the Apple store were not helpful--they just wanted to sell me an unlocked phone from the store at full price.
Yes. It will work in Canada. He just needs to get the correct size SIM card for the phone from his service provider and put it in the phone.
