Can't decide between a 16gb and a 64gb..... what is really the difference in storage? Worth the extra $100?

64 GB hands down. 16 GB is not enough today. There are multiple reports that people with 16 GB could not upgrade easily to the latest iOS upgrades since there is not enough space with just a few programs on the phone.

Yes we can store almost everything in the cloud, but 16 GB is not enough as a base. Apple knows this which is why they did not do 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB. 32 GB would be sufficiency for the vast majority and they would lose out on people paying $100 more for 64 GB. By having 16 GB and then the jump to 64 GB, Apple is assuring a sizable number will pay that $100, like you and me.

I agree with Weth.  I had a 16GB iP5 and that was a bad decision.  I wouldn't consider myself a power user with lots and lots of apps...but even under normal use I always found that I was running really low on space.  Every time there was an OS release...guess what...time to start deleting some things that I would rather have kept.  So when I ordered my iP6+ I knew I had to go at least 64GB.   16GB just doesn't go very far these days...

Honestly, it really depends on how you use your iPhone.  If you don't have lots of music, pictures, videos, etc then you could do 16 GB.  However, if you really don't want to worry about storage than the 64 GB is your best option.  Also, the more storage your iPhone has the more that you can get for it if you ever decided to sell it.  Oh if your GarageBand fan then definitely go the later option.
