Activation Question

I hope someone can answer my question.

I purchased an iPhone 6 directly from Apple.com. I purchased the sim free version, which Apple said would be whitelisted for VZW pre or postpaid.

When I call VZW to active a postpaid plan and go on contract, what do I do about the SIM? I really want to avoid visiting a store. Do I buy the kit and put that in the phone?

Most of the customer service agents at telesales say that I cannot do what I want to do, and can't seem to answer my SIM card question.

Call Verizon support or visit corporate store to get Verizon nano SIM.  It is free.  If you go to third party store, it will usually cost you.  Verizon support will mail one free.

Which support? It's a new activation? Telesales works on commission and doesn't seem to care.

I don't know which department to ask for.
